Data deletion

1. If you are a baseNode customer

Export first if you want a copy: Contacts, Export for contacts; Security, Consent proof for opt-in records; Security, Export whole workspace for everything (owners only).

To delete one person: open their contact in Contacts, then Consent and privacy, then Erase for good. Their details and messages are removed and a one-way marker stops them being re-imported. To delete messages automatically, set a retention period in Security.

To close your account and delete the workspace, use Help in the app (choose Refund or A question) or contact us below. We confirm the request with the account owner, then delete workspace data within 30 days; some billing records are kept as the law requires.

2. If you are a customer of a business that uses baseNode

That business decides what it stores about you. Ask them to erase your data; they can do it themselves in seconds. You can also message them “STOP” on WhatsApp to stop marketing messages immediately.

If you cannot reach the business, contact us with your WhatsApp number and the business's name and we will pass on your request and help make sure it is actioned.

3. Facebook and WhatsApp (Meta) data

baseNode receives data from Meta only for the WhatsApp numbers a business connects. When a business disconnects a number, we stop receiving data and remove the access token. Requests to delete data held by Meta itself should be made to Meta.

4. How long it takes

Erasing a contact is immediate. Workspace deletion completes within 30 days. Backups roll off on the hosting provider's normal cycle.
